Mission, Vision and Beliefs

Our Mission:

Our mission is to the ministry of reconcilation given to us by our Lord

Our Vision:

Our vision is to be a hospital for sinners not a museum for saints and to see lives transformed by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ

Our Beliefs:

First Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention, and the Southwest Metroplex Baptist Association.  Southern Baptists are a network of chuches who profess a living faith that is rooted in Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever.  The sole authority for our faith is the Holy Scriptures, which consist of the Old Testament and the New Testament.

WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

WE BELIEVE that there is one God that eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His Virgin Birth; in His sinless life; in His atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal Second Coming.

WE BELIEVE that for the salvation of humanity, regeneration through the Holy Spirit is essential, and repentance from sin through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to eternal life.

WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.  We further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.

WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost.  For those who are saved a resurrection to Heaven. For those who are lost a resurrection to Lake of fire.

WE BELIEVE in the two ordinances of the New Testament Church which consist of water baptism and the Lord's Supper.  We do not believe  that either of these ordinances are essential to salvation, but that they serve as a testimony of our living faith in Christ.
